Color: Dark red with purple undertones.
Aroma: Beautiful dark fruit aromas of blackberry, huckleberry, Vanilla, cedar, black currant, toffee and even a hint of lavender and violets appear in this seductive wine.
Taste: The first sip of this wine brought to mind the sense of luxury. Lush, full, round, elegant - with a subversively long finish, it has in body as much to offer as the enigmatic aromas.

Chimney Rock continues a successful string of vintages with this powerful ’05. It’s a distinguished wine that calls to mind the description of Stags Leap Cabernet as an iron fist in a velvet glove. Rich and full-bodied, it has lush flavors of black currants and smoky new oak. Easy to find, with 28,000 cases produced. Drink now through 2012.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
