he two varieties fuse in fine style. The Cabernet gives the Nero d'Avola a touch of mint, enriching its substantial supply of scents. Notes of licorice, cacao, cherries and bilberries against a sweetish background. The flavors are well-structured, full, absorbing and remarkably persistent.
Food matches: With grilled or roasted red meats, imposing roasts, kid and lamb. Aged cheeses, like Ragusano. Porcini mushrooms, rabbit and polpettone (meat loaf).

Nero d’Avola (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) complement themselves beautifully in this fresh, deeply concentrated wine from western Sicily. Tancredi’s sophisticated aromas include spice, blackberry and dried herbs. The wine has the elegance and complexity to stand up to elaborate meat dishes.

The 2004 Tancredi is a blend of 70% Nero d’Avola and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in French oak is endowed with notable warmth and richness in its fruit. Herb, chocolate and toasted oak nuances also come to the forefront, adding further complexity. The Cabernet is very much felt in the structure and density of the wine. All of the wine’s elements come together in an engaging and utterly satisfying glass of wine. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016.

Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
